Crisis averted, that was a big relief, just when the pressure started to come down on me to bring out a win, managed to get past Chen Long in three
The shuttles here in France were very fast, so the style of play used was very different it was a lot of attacking not so many clears etc. all smash smash smash, crazy badminton but really enjoyable
I've had a great week, kept up my final appearances and managed to win the title against the determined Tago
Thanks for all the support everyone!!!!!!!
Hey guys
Bit of a dissapointing week, I did get an iPhone 4s for my birthday though! thanks uncle YC!!!
“I have to admit that he has turned out to be a tough opponent for me. He is so full of confidence and it has just become tougher to beat him,”“He had read my game well. He displays better control and makes less mistakes. His game has become more polished.“Right now, he has become a real challenger for me for the Olympic Games. My rival is no longer Lin Dan alone,”
Lin Dan is of course my rival, we have history, but Chen Long is complete now, I highly doubt we will be seeing him losing early on like the World Champs anymore, no disrespect to Kevin but Chen Long is a fierce opponent to worry about now.
My birthday however was fantastic, I like to thank Denmark badminton, Yonex international, my team mates, Wai, YC and Yee Xia for helping me celebrate! There was lot's of cake flying about and Pei Tty found an amazing chocolate cake with toffee, i had a yonex cake! and also a danish blueberry pie!
Then of course there was a nice meal in the local chinese restaurant between me, tan boon heong, koo kien keat, gan, bin shen, wee kiong, thien how a few more of the players and uncle YC, Wai and Yee Xia
So I also hear the YCSPORTS Open Badminton Championships are this weekend! I was going to make an appearance but unfortunately I'm in Paris with a tough semi final against Chen Long on the cards once again!
Badminton has suddenly got a whole lot tougher.
Off to France I go though, shopping heaven ;) , LV watch out ;)
Wish me luck guys!
Official Statement
After the match i suffered severe cramp due to the exhaustion,
It was an honour to play in such a great match but i am obviously disappointed that I couldn't quite get over the finish line.
This has been my best world championships to date and I am looking forward to coming back to Wembley next year for the Olympic Games.
I love coming to Britain to play and the support I get is duly appreciated
I would like to thank Bath University for their help in my preperations and my uncle YC and family from Cardiff for the help in making me feel at home and the brilliant day in Cardiff I had.
I hope I meet Lin Dan again soon and the outcome is reversed!!!
Maybe I made 2 bad judgements when I was winning match point, by attacking too quickly and trying to win the point too fast, if I slowed the game down it might have been a different story!!!
Thanks also to Yonex, my other sponsors and YC Sports
Saturday night Wai came to see me in Bath as I was off on Sunday, In the morning I travelled with him in his car to Cardiff, with Koo, Ng Hui Lin, Ng Hui Ern, Tan Boon Heong, Lim Khim Wah, Thien How and Wee Kiong
I went shopping with Wai in city centre first, to my surprise I was even spotted there!!! As the idea was no one would recognise me! that planned failed but it is a lot more peaceful then back home which is good for my mental preperation for the world champs
After that we all went to lunch have some traditional Dim Sum including my uncle YC, his daughter Yee Xia and eldest son Jean, the restaurant was very busy and I had many good luck wishes.
After lunch I returned to the city centre and shopped in St David's 2 as Wai promised me he'd take me to G Star!
three hours and lots of spent money later I took a trip to my uncle's restaurant The Phoenix Garden, which was very nice as they prepared special food for my visit.
When dinner was over we all went to YC Sports to visit the legacy my uncle established and we represent!
Koo, Tan and I gladly took a few photos and Uncle YC supplied us all with Varsity Apparel joggers (www.tuskteamwear.co.uk) which we absolutely adore, the most comfortable joggers you will ever wear!!
We also managed to pick up a bargain on some fitness equipment such as space markers for our fitness instructor Brad!
Overall it was a fantastic day out and I wish I could have stayed for longer! Next time I will organise for a fans meet and greet in the shop!
Here are some pictures of our first visit to Cardiff
Great few days in KL with my buddy Wai, showed him around everywhere
Had some hard training sessions, ready for this weeks indonesian open, after having singapore off, which is probably a good choice as you see by this weeks results!
Lin Dan losing was a surprise, but fair play to sho sasaki, and peter gade beating taufik was a great win!
I havent dropped a game yet and don't plan on doing so either! should be a tough match tomorrow, Peter is a very clever player, but lets see how it goes!
Wish me Luck!!!
eagerly awaiting Wai's arrival
tomorrow the fun begins!
They're comingggggggggggggg
Ok so the trip to China for the Surdirman ended a bit prematurely... We probably should have beaten Indonesia and after that game the Korean ladies were just to strong for us
But it's ok let's not dwell on it! Thailand open is soon!! I've won it before but I'm not playing this year! :( However if you are around Lok Chong Chieh amongst others are playing so be sure to give him all the support you would have given me!!
Singapore and Indonesia is also coming up these two back to back double headers are usually quite successful ones to me. I may only play one this year though! We'll see!!!
Now it's all about World Champs - I've got my All England winners medal, now I want World Champs winners medal! and then Olympics, then I'll be happy - After all Lin Dan has won 5 of the best - AE, WC, OG, Surdirman and Thomas.... Thomas cup and Sudirman cup are a big ask for Malaysia as we lack depth but I can try by best at the individual 3 and hopefully come up tops! :D come on I have the confidence to step up and do it, BUT you need to be there with me!!
This could be my last chance!!
COME ON EVERYONE
Make sure you support us today!
Indonesia the local derby is going to be a tough fight!
I want to take us further then we have ever been before! So if you are visiting the stadium please make sure you are cheering! Support is always wanted!

MALAYSIA BOLEH!
D' LCW
So I'm back in China again! starting to feel like a second home now, if it's not an open, its a club match, if it's not that it's the surdirman cup!
Well I like the Surdirman, personally it's one of the rare opportunities when you really are playing for your country rather than representing your country playing for yourself. This one is more dramatic, it's all about team support, you're a team and you have to win!
I want to do as well as we can for Malaysia! And Indonesia in the group is never an easy match up!!
Local derby on foreign land! Should be interesting and very close!
Anyway - there's a competition going on guys!!!
